Dr. Jamillah Moore - Leader in Student Success and Access

Dr. Jamillah Moore is an accomplished and visionary leader in higher education, currently serving as Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at San Francisco State University. With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Moore has dedicated her career to advancing student success, expanding access to education, and forging powerful institutional and community partnerships. At SF State, she oversees a comprehensive portfolio of programs and services designed to support students academically, socially, and personally, ensuring they have the tools to thrive and graduate.

Prior to her tenure at SF State, Dr. Moore served as the first African American president of Cañada College from 2016 to 2021, leading an institution of over 6,000 students with an annual operating budget over $30 million. Under her leadership, the college secured a major federal grant to enhance Latinx student achievement, launched the ¡ESO! Adelante Project, and significantly expanded the Promise Scholars Program to drive improvements in student retention. She also championed critical initiatives such as the Awareness Summit and co-chaired the Basic Needs Task Force to tackle urgent issues like student housing and food insecurity.

Throughout her career, Dr. Moore has built strong partnerships with community organizations and industry leaders — including Facebook and Oracle — to promote career readiness, create innovative pathways for student success, and leverage new resources to meet evolving student needs.
